The brief was to design a concept album cover with a handmade element.
The album cover to Lykke Li's 'I Follow Rivers' LP. To reflect the song's nature and strong natural element to the lyrics. I chose to capture suspended ink in water to create a sense of movement. The image on the cover was made by suspending ink into a body of water. Stills were taken from the video of the ink moving in the water and was photoshopped on the background, as were the tones of the ink changed to fit the dark theme of the album cover. The suspended dark ink contrasting the background was chosen to create a sense of movement and tie into the natural element of water that is thematic in the song.
To juxtapose the front, the back of the album was kept one colour with just type on. Aside from the song title, the lyrics were placed on the back in a pattern to reflect a river - another visual reference to motion, movement and water.
